In my first blog post, I listed my top five favorite shoes in my closet. After I posted that initial post, I was receiving comments about keeping people updated on my collection. Throughout the last three months I have actually added five shoes to my collection and I am completely satisfied with each and every one of them. I thought why wouldn't I list these five shoes in order from least to most favorite? That's what all the readers would want right? Well here it is: The New Kicks on the Block. 5. The "Spider-man" FoampositesThese are one of my most recent and unique pick-ups. Debuting in 1997 the Nike Air Foamposite Pro gave us a completely knew shoe to cast our eyes over. Way different from any Air Jordan model, combined with many different unique colorways. The Foamposite was the first of many coming from "Posite" collection. It isn't my favorite colorway but we have to be honest, the shoe is HOT. 4. Air Jordan "Taxi" 12This was the first shoe I added to the collection after my first blog. The Air Jordan 12 also debuted in 1997 and was Jordan's very first shoe to not have any Nike signs on it. This is due to the departure of Michael Jordan from Nike. The shoe is so amazing to me, just because I love quality when it comes to my shoes. It isn't the best looking shoe I have in my closet but it is definitely is one of my favorites. 3. The "Asteroid" FoampositeI'm usually not a fan of shoes that have a lot going on, but this one right here is a different story. The design of this shoe is stunning. The Foamposites themselves tend to be a very comfortable shoe as well. My second pair and probably not my last pair of them either! However, these just might be my favorite pair of foams. 2. Air Jordan "White Metallic" 5 (2000)If I had to do the top five shoes of my whole collection over, these would be in it. The Air Jordan Retro 5 ages so beautifully. These shoes being almost as old as I am, still look almost untouched. They are so clean and the quality of the soft leather on this shoe is a reason why I love older shoes. You can't find this type of quality in any of today's shoes. A true beauty, the Air Jordan "White Metallic" 5. 1. Nike Air More Uptempo "Olympic"I guarantee 99.9% of the readers of my blog do not agree with this one. In my very first blog, I mentioned my all white Uptempos and stated that I'd be getting this colorway. I wasn't lying to you. The OG model of Scottie Pippen's signature sure is absolutely amazing. This would probably be in my top five shoes to rock period. The comfort, quality, and appearance of this shoe are all twenty's out of ten in my opinion. I don't bring them out much but I do love to rock them!
From January till now I have copped five pairs of shoes. All of them unique in their own little ways and all of them apart of Dawson's sneaks. Any questions about my sneaker collection? Comment below and I will be happy to answer anything you'd like to ask!

It was my seventeenth birthday. My family and I were on our way to the big city, Chicago. I didn't want anything specific. I just simply wanted to be in Chicago for my birthday. The car ride was long and tiresome but we eventually got to our destination in a timely manner. There was one store in particular that I wanted to check out. Jordan had just opened a retail store in Chicago on State Street and State Street was where we were heading first. We walked into the store and I was in heaven! I loved every second of it. There were so many shoes to choose from and I was determined to leave with one of them. There were the Air Jordan "Chrome" and "Three-peat" 8's which are both amazing shoes in quality. There were the "Pinnacle" Air Jordan 1's as well which are very prestigious in their own right. Then I came across one of the prettiest shoes I have ever seen. The "Chi City" Air Jordan 23's. The all red leather caught my eye immediately. This is the only retail store that had this shoe in stock. Other than here you had to get this she for resale price on the internet. I wanted this shoe. It wasn't one I would pass up on. I had the shoe in my hand, examining it from mid-sole to insole, then I looked up and saw it... I looked up and saw the CLEANEST, down right most BEAUTIFUL shoe I've ever seen in my life. The Air Jordan "Maroon" 6. They came out on December 5th and I wanted them so bad. I never got a chance to get them on release day and I did not want any part in spending $300+ on them after retail. But here I was on January 1st. My birthday. Almost a whole month after their release day. Right in front of my eyes. IN MY HANDS. I needed them. I forgot all about any of the shoes I saw during that day. I asked the sales' associate if they had any sizes in the back. He came out with the last shoe in the back, a size 11. MY SIZE. It could not have gotten any better than this, I didn't even need to try them on. I took them to the front counter and my dad and I split the bill. On Valentine's Day I went out on a date with my girlfriend. This was my second time wearing my "Maroon" 6's. The night was amazing and the outfit I had on was smooth and the Maroon 6's just brought everything together. I got home that night and took them off ever so gently (like I always do). I was about to put them in the box and saw what seemed to be a nightmare. The heel was cracking. The paint on the heel was cracking. I was so upset. I could have cried. I only wore them once before then and neither of the wears were heavy at all. They were both for a couple of hours. I could not fathom how or why this would happen to me... I started doing research on the shoes and kept seeing reviews of the same mishaps I went through. It turns out that this certain sneaker release was one of the worst in terms of quality in the whole year of 2015. The whole situation to this day makes my heart hurt. I still wear them here and there and I always think about my history with them when I have them on. Still though, to this day these are one of my most favorite shoes in my collection as you saw on my first blog post. Sometimes I wish I would've gone for the Chi City 23's or one of the Air Jordan 8's in the store but I love the Air Jordan "Maroon" 6 and all it's imperfections and will continue to love it for years to come! Here I am in my Maroon 6's.
Every sneaker head has their favorites. Some love the patent leather on the Air Jordan 11. Some love the suede Jordan Brand has incorporated into some of their colorways. Me? I love it all. I love the new shoe smell. I love Jordan's in general. I like the Air Jordan 6 model the best, but there are other individual colorways that are just amazing in my opinion. Here are my top 10 favorite Jordans of all time! 10. Air Jordan "Raptor" 7The Air Jordan "Raptor" 7 is a classic, it was the only Jordan 7 I have ever seen Michael Jordan play in himself. As a sneaker head, history behind the shoe means the world. I would take a shoe that is rich in history over a shoe that just looks good any day of the week. At number 10, the "Raptor" 7's. 9. Air Jordan "Flu Game" 12The Air Jordan "Flu Game" 12 might be one of the most iconic Jordans to ever be released. In 1997 in Game 5 of the NBA finals, Michael Jordan had the flu but didn't sit out. He still played. He scored an outstanding 38 points and led the Chicago Bulls to a win over the Utah Jazz. In this picture it shows from left to right, the original or OG release from 1997, the re-release in 2003, and it's second timed re-released in 2009. The black and red Air Jordan 12 will forever be one of the most meaningful Jordan to any sneaker head there is. 8. Air Jordan "Ferrari" 14This colorway by Jordan Brand is simply crazy. This model, referring to the Ferrari car, is an all red, all suede shoe. I don't have much to say. The shoe speaks for itself. It's not one of the more popular Jordan colorways but it is definitely worth a second glance! 7. Air Jordan "Golden Moments Pack" 6The Golden Moments Pack (GMP) includes this model and an Air Jordan 7 as well. As I've said, I love the retro 6, and a white and gold colorway is a dream come true. Everything about the shoe is just so clean, so silky. It's definitely one of the more coveted Jordans for me out there. 6. Air Jordan "Just Don" 2'sThe Air Jordan "Just Don" 2 is a collaboration from Chicago-based luxury designer Don C, whom has leaked up Jordan Brand to releases a high-end edition of the classic Air Jordan 2 silhouette. This all blue shoe is so different from any of the other nine shoes I've included in the top ten. I love different, at one point in time I probably would have put this as my number one Air Jordan ever. Just by looks in my opinion it is the one. It doesn't have much history which is what puts it in the bottom five of the ten. All in all, this is probably the shoe I want the most out of these all. 5. Air Jordan "Bred " 4One of the most popular Jordans of all time in terms of history. One of the few Jordan colorways that he actually wore in game. The suede model is so basic and so clean with so much history behind it. Every sneaker head dreams about holding a pair of these! This is by far my favorite "bred" colorway. 4. Air Jordan "Concord" 11At number 4, the cleanest Jordan to ever be released. The "Concord" 11. Crazy clean. Aren't they so beautiful? Not much to say about a shoe like this. 3. Air Jordan "Defining Moments Pack Raptor" 7I know what you're thinking. I had the Raptor colorway at number ten. This as being apart of an exclusive pack is head and shoulders above the original Raptor colorway. The grey instead of black base makes every color on the shoe pop more than ever. In my opinion the grey base gave the Raptors the pop they needed to be a simply beautiful shoe. 2. Air Jordan "Raging Bull" 5I'm not a fan of most retro 5's but in all honesty, this is one of the greatest shoes ever created. From the clear sole, to the all suede base. This is one of the shoes you just do not see very often. I have never seen one in person and if I had $800 to blow, just know this shoe would be in my closet! 1. Air Jordan "Doernbecher " 6The Doernbecher Foundation, was made to have the children in the Doernbecher Hospital in Oregon custom design their favorite retro to something meaningful to them. Designed in 2008 by Jordan Dark. Jordan had Edwing's Sarcoma and started chemo therapy in June of 2008. The date 06/08 is stitched on the sneakers. Most of the shoe is navy blue suede. The shoe is mainly inspired by a baseball team the Atlanta Braves. The whole inside of the shoe has baseball stitched details. This is my favorite Jordan because first, it is my favorite retro model and the fact that they made it suede is so original and creative that no other shoe could be my number one. And second, I love the whole concept of the Doernbecher Foundation and what it does for all these children. Please let me know what you thought about my top ten and feel free to ask any questions you have for me!
I have been into sneakers for about two years now and my collection has slowly but surely gotten larger. It all started with a pair of Air Jordan "Stealth" Retro 3's that at the time when I received them, I didn't even know what they were. I don't even have the shoe anymore but that is what started the collection and the love I had for sneakers. Now my collection is at a total of fourteen pairs of sneakers. Each one is worth hundreds of dollars and I treat them all like they are. Unique. I do have my favorites however, and that's what I'll show you today. Here are my top five favorite sneakers in my closet. 5. The Air Jordan "Maroon" Retro 6 was a birthday present to me last yer from my parents. I love everything about the shoe. The clearish icy bottom, the off white color, the maroon details. Everything about the shoe is a winner. It had to crack the top five, just because my favorite retro is the retro 6. 4. The Nike Air More Uptempo is a beautiful shoe that was introduced into the sneaker world by Scottie Pippen. The latest addition to my collection the "White Gum" colorway that I'm so lucky to have is one of my favorites. These are probably one of my most comfortable shoes in my collection. I probably wear them the most as well, just because they have the gum bottoms. One day soon you will see me with my second pair of Uptempos, the "Olympic" colorway. 3. The Air Jordan "Space Jam" Retro 11 is so icy and so clean. It really makes me not even want to take them out of the box! I got them in early December and they have only been worn twice. The Air Jordan 11 to many is looked at the most prestigious retro in history which is why every year they are released around Christmas time. This shoe couldn't have missed my top five by a long shot! 2. These speak for themselves. The Air Jordan "Carmine" Retro 6 is probably the hottest retro 6 to date. Coming out in May of 2014, this shoe is really a work of art, all the way from the icy bottoms to the suede toe box. What people don't realize though about this shoe is the amazing quality. This is one of my oldest pairs of shoes in my closet and they still look clean! Jordan brand did something special with this release. 1. The oldest pair of shoes I have in my collection. The cleanest shoes I have in my collection. The Air Jordan "Stealth" Retro 5 is easily the hottest sneaker that I have in my possession. All the way from 2006, I bought them in October of 2016 BRAND NEW. Yes, never worn. I've worn them two times and two times only. The soft leather and aging clear bottoms make this shoe one of the cleanest I've ever seen! I'm totally in love with this sneaker.
These were tough choices considering how much I love each and every one of my sneaks but there's my top five! Now what did you? Which ones were your favorites? If you have any interest in sneakers the Jordan brand is coming out with some dope releases in 2017! |
AuthorMy name is Dawson Hoffman and I'm from Peoria, Illinois. I am a high school student at Dunlap High School. I grew up watching and playing sports and that gave me kind of a link to sneakers. Over time sneakers have came to define who I am. I love everything about them. ArchivesCategories |
